In the middle of winter this year my love and I escaped to the northern hemisphere for a summer holiday. We spent six weeks traveling around the USA and Canada visiting friends and seeing the sights. Here’s a few images from our travels.

This beautiful couple celebrated the joy of their first pregnancy with a maternity shoot in my studio. A studio session is perfect for maternity photographs since it is totally private and allows the couple to be adventurous and romantic in showing off the belly. We took some gorgeous and intimate images that afternoon and I’m glad that Hao and Yvonne didn’t mind sharing these few with you. Some people post every single shot they take – but I believe that portrait images ultimately belong to the individual and wouldn’t dream of sharing such personal moments without permission. You’ll just have to imagine the others. Enjoy.

Celebration makes the world go round. The people of this village on the island of Tanna, Vanuatu have been preparing for this day for months, even years. Collecting fruit and coconuts, harvesting root vegetables, buying fabric and rice, crushing and roasting taro, plucking chickens, fattening a cow and catching these giant fish on a small ocean canoe. But its worth it. For friends and relatives have traveled over land and sea for the celebration.

I spent a year living in the wine country north east of Melbourne. These images form a kind of portrait of that place. Days drenched in fog, seasonal wild flowers and the glorious new blossoms of spring.

On a gorgeous autumn day in Sydney’s north John Armstrong married Jenna Richard. I was honored to be the photographer for their special day.

A couple weeks ago I was wandering around in the city that never sleeps. What an incredible place. Hope you enjoy these images.

I’ve finally been able to get my hands on the brochures which were a result of a big lifestyle shoot I did for Wesley Mission in 2008. I spent many weeks working with a stylist and travelling around to their various retirement centres in Sydney to shoot a series of images which represented the service but also maintained the Wesley Mission brand. Here are a handful of my favourite images in the slideshow above.

Almost all the shots in the brochures below are mine, with a few exceptions which were filled from stock libraries.

I spent last Saturday morning dodging falling branches to do some promo shots for Sydney Tree Removals. Geoff Ashton, the Tree Doctor, was high up in a HUGE dead tree, swinging around like a monkey and expertly (and safely!) bringing the tree down piece by piece. It was incredible to watch! Some of the tree was hanging over the neighbour’s garage, and they even brought that down safely onto the grass. I loved grabbing those action shots with the rope and the chainsaw, and I loved shooting against that beautiful blue sky. Don’t you think he looks like an action hero? A few weeks ago I was sent to Cape Town to help cover The Lausanne Congress. 4500 people from 198 different countries, together in Cape Town to listen, learn and rejoice together. Whatever your spirituality – to see people from opposite sides of the world listening to each other is a beautiful thing. Praying in Mandarin, singing in Arabic and talking in Welsh, there was no end of stories to be told. Here are only a few of the thousands of images I took over the 6 days of the Lausanne Congress in Cape Town 2010. As part of the photography team, I worked 13 hour days to capture this historical event. What an incredible week.
